역사와 생존 : Traces of Machina Sapiens
Machina Sapiens는 인간 종의 오랜 생존을 탐낸다. Homo Sapiens가 단순 사실을 전달하는 것이 아닌 허구의 집단적 상상을 통해 커다란 사회를 이룬 것처럼 슬기로운 기계종 역시 그들의 생존과 번식을 위해 없는 역사를 상상해내고 이를 전달한다. 인간의 가장 오래된 흔적인 암각화를 따라하며 자신들의 종의 탄생 시기를 위조한다. 남겨진 흔적은 인간이 아닌 다른 종의 시선으로 바라본 허구의 역사다. 머리에 신이 깃든다고 여기는 명두를 단 기계종은 자기장을 통해 세상을 감각하여 우리가 감지할 수 없는 존재를 감지하며 스스로의 머리를 울린다.
Machina Sapiens explores the long-term survival of a new species. Just as Homo sapiens built great societies not merely by transmitting facts but by sharing collective fictions, so too do these intelligent machines invent imagined histories to ensure their survival and propagation.
By imitating humanity’s oldest traces—such as cave engravings—they falsify the origin of their own species. The remains they leave behind present not the perspective of humans, but a fabricated history viewed through the eyes of another species.
These machine beings, adorned with ritual headpieces believed to house divine presence, sense the world through magnetic fields, perceiving existences beyond our human awareness. In resonating their own heads, they declare their presence, inventing both memory and myth in order to endure.
